tahoe valley campground

We were able to get a 50amp, full hookup site with DirecTV satellite access thru the tall trees. There was no avoiding the WiFi There was no avoiding the WiFi purchase since my Verizon was unusable in the campground. If you However, I would not pay their listed nightly price. That all means I can stay here for 2 weeks absolutely free, leave for a week and come back for another 2 weeks absolutely free, over and over again. Despite over stating the length of my trailer by five feet it Despite over stating the length of my trailer by five feet it was still tight. Airport is used for military high-altitude training at times with heavy helicopter traffic. The camp sites are close and a bit run down. The trees define the sites, so they aren't just side by side, perfectly straight. The location is great and road noise is low, but there is a hospital very close and they seem to use their helicopter a lot! I have to work remotely in the RV so cell signal strength is important. We woul After reading yelp reviews I see lots of complaints about the facilities and apparently management is not helpful. We loved our visit to Lake Tahoe but found the area to be very expensive and, even in the 'shoulder season' between summer boating and winter skiiing, we found it very, We loved our visit to Lake Tahoe but found the area to be very expensive and, even in the 'shoulder season' between summer boating and winter skiiing, we found it very, very crowded. I did call and complain but either that message didn't get delivered or there wasn't any importance placed on it. There are lots of There are lots of trees so satellite is next to impossible to get. Water barely warm. Famous for its incredible cobalt blue color, Lake Tahoe is the second deepest in the U.{/INSERTKEYS}{/PARAGRAPH} The signage was a little confusing, but we found it and we managed to get parked and setup with no problems. If you like tall pine trees and an occasional bear, this is a good place for you. There is a trail to the river through a beautiful meadow. We decided to extend our stay an extra two weeks, and part way through moved to a premium site. Food in the bathroom sinks. {PARAGRAPH}{INSERTKEYS}GPS: We are traveling in a 45' Class A with a toad. I'm writing this on Friday night at pm and a fifth wheel just arrived at the park. I checked multiple days in a row to see if they were cleaned: nope. Unfortunately some of their services were not available even though your daily fee is supposed to cover it like the trolley into town and the pool and hot tub. The bathrooms are absolutely filthy, hair and dirt clumped in corners are around each shower stall. Rough roads, partly paved, so many pine needles it was hard to tell road from not road. The laundry was clean and reasonable. I did manage with a portable antenna. They were upgrading the closest rest rooms but that is good. I made my reservation months in advance online, would not guarantee a site , even after I called a week ahead to confirm. Please note we saw warning signs at the local Visitor Center indicating the squirrels and chipmunks do have plague infested fleas. The place was busy and loud, campsites were smashed together so the only views were of RVs parked on the other three sides. A couple tips if you are like me and you really must be at this campground: Review the campground map and reserve as early as possible to get a better site. I don't envy them, but it's not great for the rest of us trying to settle down for the night either. By far one of the grossest campgrounds we have been in a looooong time. We were looking for a place to relax for a while and the Lake Tahoe area seemed like a good choice. We had a lot of room, so it wasn't an issue, but others might not feel that way. This adds some character to the park, but also means you might be looking at someone else's sitting area, although that extreme is rare. My only complaint was that the workers would drive their golf carts fast through the nearby campsites kicking up dust everywhere into my RV. Site is located at the end of an aisle so there is a road on 3 sides and the 4th side is where the dump station is location. We stayed here in October and there were plenty of empty spaces. Am a TT member and have the TC add on. Although we didn't see any, neighbors said they had seen a bear and coyote, we only saw birds and chipmunks. We settled on this park, based on reviews. You can find the hookups you want, you just need to be cl You can find the hookups you want, you just need to be clear what you want. The second time neither of the two driers I used dried my clothes. Dusty dirty sites, not paved at all. The bathrooms in our loop were older, but clean. It was very low here and most places around Lake Tahoe, but the campground wifi worked great. There was a group next to us that had several RV's and tents, which was really nice for them. I used the laundry twice, the first time went well. For free this is a great CG. So that was a downer. The park is a bit of a mish mash of sites, some with 50 amp, some only 30 amp, some have sewer and some don't. Expect dust as the sites are all dirt. When we complained, the kid working said that they don't always work and refunded the cost of one dryer. Lots of trees which is nice, but not great for solar panels though I didn't really need it since the site came with electricity. Not a huge deal since the awful karaoke just ended at 10pm. They didn't even ask which machines we had problems with, that was disappointing. We've been camping extensively this year and this is honestly the worst cost vs. Airport just behind campground, lots of helicopter and plane noise. The bathrooms were dirty and very busy. Check in was uneventful and was able to try and accommodate my request to receive a satellite signal. There is a full market and Starbucks an easy walk or bike ride away. Dirt in every corner of the buildings. If you have a dog or cat be aware there were no warning signs at the RV park. Stayed here while visiting Lake Tahoe area for the week just before Memorial Day weekend. There are a number of other facilities to use. Our dogs give this walk a 5-star! Pool seemed nice but a little cold for my Florida blood to dare to enter was here in May. That was a little annoying, but it usually doesn't run late into the night. Sites were pretty nice; however instead of spreading you out t Sites were pretty nice; however instead of spreading you out through out the campground, they put everyone in the same location. The check-in process was easy and we proceeded to our spot. But, because the sites aren't clearly defined, one of their tents encroached on part of what we thought was our area. Cellular internet was usable sorry forget to note speeds. Ours only had a amp connection,, however they happily loaned me an adapter. It was July and busy. Terrible entrance, either of 3 possible choices, not well marked from Hwy. Our site was still 30 amp, but we had woods behind us and our site had much more open space to set up our canopy. Of course Tahoe is just beautiful and that is why you come here IMO. We were not disappointed. Go out and explore. Many of the sites, including ours, have large trees that can make it difficult for larger rigs to get into. There aren't a lot of options near the South Lake Tahoe area, and we aren't a Thousand Trails members but I wanted to be in the basin near my brother's house. Poor signage for the interior roads to find your site, roads wind in and around all the trees, sites not well marked. Lots of staff, don't know what they do all day, did not seem to care about guests or their needs. We are located near one of the main arteries so I can't say this was a peaceful stay. Some of the sites are wide with sun exposure and fairly good satellite reception, others not so much. Manager was very nice when I had an intake issue regarding the type of site I was supposed to get and quickly rectified it.
